چکیده

Hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide may be used during manufacture to adjust pH of suspension to approximately 6. Triamcinolone diacetate is practically insoluble in water; soluble in chloroform; sparingly soluble in alcohol and in methanol; and slightly soluble in ether. This preparation is suitable for parenteral administration through a 23-gauge needle (or larger), but NOT suitable for intravenous use. It may be administered by the intramuscular, intra-articular, or intrasynovial routes, depending upon the situation. Irreversible clumping occurs when this product is frozen. Chemically triamcinolone diacetate is 9-fluoro-11ß,16α,17,21-tetrahydroxypregna-1,4-diene 3,20-dione 16,21-diacetate. The molecular weight is 478.51. Its structural formula is:

Electroretinographic effects of an intravitreal injection of triamcinolone in rabbit retina.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical, histologic, and electroretinographic effects of intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide suspension in the rabbit retina. METHODS Three groups of 6 rabbits each received intravitreal injections. Group 1 received 4 mg of triamcinolone acetonide, group 2 received an equal volume (0.1 mL) of the corticosteroid supernatant, and group 3 received 4 mg...

Comparison of the particle sizes of different steroids and the effect of dilution: a review of the relative neurotoxicities of the steroids.

BACKGROUND Central nervous system injuries after transforaminal epidural steroid injections have been ascribed to occlusion of the blood vessels supplying the spinal cord and brain by the particulate steroid. METHODS The authors compared the sizes of the particles of the steroids methylprednisolone acetate, triamcinolone acetonide, dexamethasone sodium phosphate, betamethasone sodium phosphat...

Effect of hydrolysis rate on the properties of TiO2-CNT nanocomposite powder prepared by sol-gel method

In this study, TiO2-10%wt. carbon nanotube (CNT) nanocomposite powders were synthesized by sol-gel method at various hydrolysis rate affected by different reaction agents of acetyl acetone and benzyl alcohol. Crystallization of TiO2 was then achieved through calcination at 400 °C. The properties of nanocomposite powder investigated by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and diffuse ...

Randomised controlled trial of acetate in preterm neonates receiving parenteral nutrition.

AIMS To determine whether by partly replacing chloride with acetate in parenteral nutrition, hyperchloraemia, metabolic acidosis, and the subsequent use of interventions such as colloid infusion, alkali treatment, increased assisted ventilation, would be reduced. METHODS Fifty eight neonates of less than 32 weeks gestation, receiving parenteral nutrition from days 3 to 10, were given either s...

Severe hypoglycaemia due to combined use of parenteral nutrition and renal dialysis.

A 24-year-old woman who had sustained serious injuries in a road traffic accident required renal dialysis daily and was fed intravenously with a solution containing 25% dextrose. Subsequently insulin had to be added to the parenteral fluid to maintain blood glucose concentrations at physiological values. On one occasion parenteral feeding was continued until dialysis was started; she became com...
